YAS in town! (French only)
On 18 November 2023, Tataki (RTS) host Sacha Porchet welcomed Geneva-based youth for an interactive talk with #YAS23 Laureate Maïmouna Ba, who fights tirelessly to prevent violent extremism, support victims of conflict, and promote peace in her community in Burkina Faso.
This informal chat between Sacha and Maïmouna highlighted not only her story, work on the ground, and achievements, but also the challenges she has faced throughout her activism journey, and how she has overcome them. The audience was given the opportunity to interact with Maïmouna and Sacha, and to take concrete action to advance her causes on the ground.
This event was organized by the Young Activists Summit, in partnership with Tataki RTS, with the support of the City of Geneva, the Loterie Romande, and Goldbach Neo.
Screening of “Midwives”
On 14 November 2023, the screening of “Midwives” – a documentary by Burmese director Hnin Ei Hlaing which explores the relationship between a Buddhist Bamar midwife and her Muslim Rohingya apprentice – was organized at the House of Peace in Geneva. The screening was followed by a panel discussion with #YAS23 Laureate Maung Sawyeddollah.
This event was co-organized by the Young Activists Summit, the Graduate Institute, the FIFDH (International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights), and The New Humanitarian.
